(for Windows)

If your employer has limited the permissions of what may be installed, it might not be possible for Overlord to install the Adobe extension directly.

1. Open the folder where the Overlord app is installed (the default path is Users\xxusernamexx\AppData\Local\Overlord\ and look for a Plugins folder. Inside of that should be a file OverlordCEP.zip

2. ALT click the refresh button to open the folder where the extensions should be installed

3. Extract the OverlordCEP.zip contents into the extension folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\CEP\extensions\Overlord that opened in step one.

4. Click the refresh button and it should tell you it's installed

5. Restart Ae/Ai

(for macOS)

Overlord needs permission to install the Adobe Extension used to communicate with Illustrator and After Effects. If you see an error about Permission denied (os error 13) your permissions need to updated for the extensions install path.

1. ALT click the 🔄 button to open the extensions folder

   ~/Users/<username>

2. Select the /extensions folder and press CMD+I to open the folder info

3. Set the folder's permissions to Read & Write

Try installing the extension again.
