Overlord Roadmap

We are unbelievably excited about what this new system allows us to build into Overlord. New things are here and more are on the horizon.

In development

Ps / Figma connection

Photoshop is the image editor that Figma forgot. Figma is the layout and collaboration tool that we all love to use. Round trip between apps and work the way you like with image layering, masking, text and vectors.

Researching

Cavalry connection

Rive connection

Blender connection

Available now

Figma → Ai connection

Round-trip art between apps to use Illustrator like a plugin for Figma.

Ai → Figma connection

Export Ai art to Figma. Work with the robust Illustrator tools and send vector, raster, text into Figma with names and layering preserved. No more SVG cleanup.

Image sequences

Frame-by-frame animation as PNG sequences. 8x faster than Timelord.

2.7.0

Connection

Transfer raster, vector and text layers from Photoshop to Ae. Building on the foundation of Timelord.

2.6.0

Rasterize selection

Convert selected elements or groups to PNG to simplify how elements are layered in Ae.

2.5.0

Connection

We spend a lot of time designing UI. Figma is pretty great.

2.4.0

Ai image export

While Illustrator works best with vector art, images on the artboard now transfer automatically.

2.3.0

Per-character text styling

Ae 24.3 allows for individual character text styling. This opens up complex styling within a single text layer.

2.2.0

Import files

When Illustrator art doesn't need to be shape layers –because it works better as footage, or is too complex for Ae to draw. Auto import and decompose.

2.1.0

Shape expand

Send live elements like blends, radial/grid repeaters, and pathfinder to Ae as paths while maintaining edibility in Illustrator.

2.0.0

Layer count increase

v1 maxed out around 260. This limit has been destroyed and we've successfully created 1200 layers. Who knows how high this can go before Ae explodes?

2.0.0

Large Ai canvas support

Adobe changed how artboards larger than 16,384px are handled in Illustrator 24.2 by dividing all the art dimensions by 10. We built a workaround for that.
